| As you may be aware, our Company ZT Technology Solutions has been an ardent advocate of supporting legacy telecom equipment. If you examine our website www.zttechsol.com and my LinkedIn profile (Mike Dazio), you will see that I have written extensively on the Death of the PTSN and eliminating obsolescence by extending the life of legacy equipment. We focus primarily on legacy TDM switches (for example Nortel (Ribbon) DMS, Lucent (Nokia) 5ESS, as well as EWSD and DCO. Recently, we have come to the inevitable conclusion that the process of migration from the existing TDM to IP World must begin. Consequently, we have partnered with TelcoBridges to assist our customers to Metaswitch and other IP SBC Solutions. Our role is now to focus our energies to help our customers with that migration. Many of our customers have lost the internal expertise to support the existing TDM base and migration efforts due to layoffs, retirements of the existing expertise. I recently read an article in TMForum entitled “How to implement an effective transformation from TDM to IP services. I think it’s worth reading. It’s obvious that the legacy TDM infrastructure while a significant contributor to the financial bottom line is becoming increasingly expensive to run, manage, and support.
