Comverse AccessNP

Support and Offerings from ZT Technology Solutions

ZT has a select team of hand-picked support engineers that provides customers with the absolute highest level of 24/7/365 software and hardware support. The ZT team consists of highly seasoned software sustaining, hardware sustaining, and Technical Assistance Center employees, each with over ten years of voicemail support experience.  ZT personnel have access to laboratory systems to resolve problems and problematic parts which can be shipped optionally overnight. Maintenance plans can be customized for every size system and budget. ZT also offers on-site assistance and Tier 2 support training.

Platform

The Comverse AccessNP is a distributed architecture, voice mail system. It uses advanced voice processing capabilities, digital circuit switching, networking interface components, and local area network technologies. An Access NP system consists of a set of interconnected, cooperating computer subsystems that support both data and voice functions. These subsystems are connected together via an Ethernet local area network. These subsystems collectively receive and process voice messages for voice mail subscribers in a network. Each Access NP subsystem performs a specific function such as voice processing, digital switching, or system control. Collectively, the subsystems provide various standard telephone-related services for mailbox subscribers, such as 24-hour answering and storage/retrieval/deletion of messages.  Also, additional voice processing applications, such as special delivery of voice messages and bulletin board access, are supported.

The hardware components of the AccessNP are:

♦   APU/VPU – Application Processing Unit

♦  MCU – Master Control Unit

♦  MIU – Multiple Integration Unit (for SMDI)

♦  DSM – Digital Switching Matrix

♦  SGU – SS7 Gateway Unit

♦  DBU – Database Unit

The components of the Access NP system hardware reside in at least two freestanding enclosed cabinets. The components are interconnected by an Ethernet network that optionally can be duplexed in order to provide communication redundancy. The user interface hardware is physically located external to the cabinets and consists of a system console and an optional maintenance and administration terminal (MAT).

The Access NP software consists of a number of proprietary UNIX processes that communicate with one another and with several different databases by using a variety of UNIX communication mechanisms.

The user interface software supports communications between the Access NP system and administrative and maintenance personnel. Both local and remote users using IP access the NP system via this interface.
