In the late 1990’s, Lucent Technologies, Inc. discontinued support of the Datakit family of products. A group of Lucent employees formed a new company called Datatek Applications, Inc. which obtained the license rights from Lucent to support the Datakit product line. In addition, Datatek then began developing products for the migration of the Datakit networks to IP. Current products are shown below.
ZT Technology Solutions in association with Datatek Applications provide remote technical support and repair for these products.

Protocol Converters
DT-4180
A sixteen user port, multi-protocol access device existing in multiple infrastructures simultaneously with a time slot router and an integrated application processor. Both asynchronous and many synchronous legacy protocols, such as X.25, can be mediated to IP. Each user port is independent of the other ports, so each runs at its own speed using its own protocol. Users and legacy devices are unaware they are communicating with devices connected to the Ethernet IP network on the IP side of the DT-4180.
DT-4284
A four-port multi-protocol access device existing in multiple infrastructures simultaneously, similar to the DT-4180 above.
DT-9480
A single port multi-protocol to IP access device.
IPv4-IPv6 Transformer
Datatek’s experience in protocol mediation and networking yields an innovative IPv4 to IPv6 migration solution: The IPv4-IPv6 Transformer. Datatek’s IPv4-IPv6 Transformer changes a legacy IPv4-only network device/host into a dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 network device/host. Simply insert the Transformer into the network device/host’s network connection and you’re ready to talk IPv6! No changes to the network device/host’s software or hardware are needed – it’s just a bump in the wire. Datatek uses IPsec to maintain a secure end-to-end connection between IPv6 end-points.

Intelligent Network Processors
DT-6061
A, IP-based Network Application Processor that applies customer specific application processing and protocol operations of network connected devices.

Datakit Migration
IP-CommKit
A new implementation of BNS/Datakit CommKit which shares the native IP interface of the host allowing the host to communicate over its native IP interface, (i.e., without special hardware) to a BNS/Datakit network.
Universal Mediation Interface (UMI)
A module inserted into a BNS/Datakit switch which provides a seamless integration of BNS/Datakit and IP endpoints. It allows up to 504 synchronous and asynchronous endpoints connected to a BNS/Datakit network to transparently access endpoints on an IP network and vice-versa.
Universal Trunk Module (UTM)
Send your BNS/Datakit trunk traffic over IP, Frame Relay or ATM Networks. The Universal Trunk is a fully-integrated BNS-2000/Datakit II VCS module. It supports interconnection with other BNS-2000/Datakit II VCS nodes, remote shelves (MPCs) and all types of SAMs.
